Mucho Indio
In this album the inspiration comes from the investigation and recovery of the ancestral sounds from the Sierra Nevada and the mountains of Cauca: Teto from his paleo-futuristic laboratory assimilated onto the skin of his spirit the sour and sweet taste of ecstasy, and with his music invited us to travel to stars that are drops of sound, melodies that with their primal innocence take our origins and leaves them sounding like futuristic prehistory. Still movement. Zen. Wisdom of the Taitas.
With percussions, native flutes, accordion, voices, and sequencers he assembles a soundtrack “key to ecology, universal law, and life in community, in communion with nature. Our chords are agreements, the scale is the spiritual guide, the rhythms reveal the mysteries of the world, the traditional chants are the key to enter the new times” in his own words.
In rituals, melody and rhythm are repeated and trance-inducing, so music and ritual are one, and the reason is to be spiritual in the mundane, to enjoy a ritual to accentuate this new mestizaje, a ritual to ‘make indian’ the white. For if all music connects to a greater or lesser extent with the spirit, this one does so to the greatest extent.
