From one of Colombia´s most exciting producer and dj rave pioneer Daniel Broderick (Dani Boom Systema Solar), we are proud to present the first album by EL LEOPARDO morphing urban dub textures with deep hypnotic rolling bass and galactic Colombian percussion. Co-produced by Felipe Alvarez, the album was the last one to be recorded at the studios of Polen Records in Bogotá, finished then later in a remote location in the countryside during the lockdowns.

EL LEOPARDO has performed on various Colombian stages from clubs to festivals including Estereo Beach, as well as international festivals: Roskilde Festival, Fusion Festival, Global CHP, Sonar Bogotá, Festival de Siennes and Transmusicales de Rennes.

O álbum traz 11 músicas, dez compostas por Arthur Pessoa e uma da lavra de Mateus Aleluia e Dadinho.

A faixa introdutória tem um tom épico e lembra a sonoridade da música armorial, ela emenda com Passararinho cuja letra adverte: "Se você quer subir / não faça nada para descer / você pode sumir / antes de aparecer". É um recado assentado na sabedoria que não é do tempo e convida o ouvinte a uma reflexão.

Em Rosa, Arthur Pessoa exalta o poder da natureza e os mistérios da criação, aí lembrei de Shakespeare em Hamlet: há mais coisas entre o céu e a terra do que pode imaginar sua vã filosofia. Uma verdade traduzida e atualizada por Arthur na sua letra que diz ainda que a Rosa chegou "orientando o caminho / desfazendo a ilusão". Outra pauta para reflexão.

Lucas Hill - Renacido

Lucas Hill is one of the most exciting new songwriters in Colombia’s alternative music scene. Hill’s music is a powerful and poetic blend of all things subtle. His music streams from Latin American traditions, folk, rock, and pop, reinvented under a contemplative gaze. Hill’s lyrics and music are woven in textures and landscapes, that explore deep and meaningful subjects thru an honest, simple, and clear voice. The Colombian songwriter released his debut album in 2020 which was well received both at home and abroad. He is currently signed by the Colombian label Polen Records, and is releasing his second album, produced by Latin Grammy award winning producer Felipe Alvarez.

SAVAN

Combining electric hypnotizing rhythms and Mururi (Uitoto) songs, Savan creates a new sound that emerges from the mystical wisdom of the Colombian Amazon. It is a musical dialogue between producer and composer Miguel Navas known as Savan and ancestral grandfather Reinaldo -guardian of ancient knowledge of rituals, dances, nature, myths, “mambe” (the original form in which coca plants are consumed) and chants. He works with a series of rhythms that comes form the heart of the amazon using the sounds of birds, frogs, insects and variations of the Maguaré drums, to recreate a sonic palette and a cosmic wake up call.

Savan has been producing electronic music for more than 20 years, with dance-floor classics such as “Calentura”, after working with different rhythms, he has submerged in the ancestral music of the Amazon and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

“In 2016 I had the opportunity to work in an audio-installation for the collective 4Direcciones on shamanism. The Amazon Ancestral Grandparents came one by one to ´The Cave´, my recording studio in a humid basement of Chapinero, Bogotá. We dedicated ourselves for several months to record songs, prayers and myths from the Miruri, Barazanos and Andoke indigenous.”
